For the eighth time, the Foundation for Strategic Research has appointed the Research Leader of the Future, FFL-8. Alexander Hollberg, Assistant Professor for Computational Sustainable Design in the Sustainable building group at Chalmers’ Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, is one of the 16 selected researchers that receive a grant of 15 million SEK each over a five-year period.
This years innovation of the year SBUF award (Development Fund of the Swedish Construction Industry) goes to DTCC researchers Mikael Johansson & Mattias Roupé for the development of a user-friendly VR interface that can be connected to digital building information models. Mikael annd Mattias are leading the DTCC milestone project Digital Twins of Construction.
Two project applications, MiljöVis II: Effective representation of health and sustainability effects in infrastructure models with a focus on environmental factors and social consequences and MålVis: Digitized goal conflict management in complex projects – Visualization of environmental data linked to health and sustainability effects were successful and received in total 4.35 million SEK in grants from Trafikverket (the Swedish Transport Administration) and CMB (Centre for Management of the Built Environment) for a joint 2.5-year long project, beginning in January 2022.
This week all 30 DTCC partners came together to discuss ongoing projects and pre-liminary results as well as new ideas. Due to the pandemic the Centre Day was the first opportunity for all partners to meet physically at “A Working Lab” in Gothenburg since the Centre’s inauguration in March 2020.
A successful launch of a new course format for professional education by the DTCC in collaboration with the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Chalmers.
