This week all 30 DTCC partners came together to discuss ongoing projects and pre-liminary results as well as new ideas. Due to the pandemic the Centre Day was the first opportunity for all partners to meet physically at “A Working Lab” in Gothenburg since the Centre’s inauguration in March 2020.

This week a delegation from Sofia University and the GATE institute visited Chalmers University and the Digital Twin Cities Centre (DTCC). Among the many events and exchanges during the week was a joint workshop on AI enriched Digital Twins hosted by DTCC. The participants presented their work on semantic segmentation to enrich digital twins as well as several use-cases ranging from wind simulations to parametric urban planning and air quality analysis.
Effective visualization means that you can include and create a basis for consensus among stakeholders in the planning process, thus contributing to a holistic view leading to more sustainable solutions.

Last week Akademiska Hus officially joined the Digital Twin Cities Centre (DTCC). Among other Akademiska Hus will contribute with digital models for over 12000 objects and their expertise in developing and managing real estate projects.

Epic Games has committed an 80000 dollar grant to support the game engine development in the Centre. The Digital Twin Platform (Research Area 0) makes use of the many capabilities that Epic’s Unreal Engine can offer to all researchers and partners in the Centre.
